Email support@apphive.tech with what happened and what you expected instead. Your iPhone model, your iOS version, and whether an Apple Watch is paired all help — several of Ninu’s surfaces only exist when one is.
Ninu can't hear the microphone
Ninu needs microphone permission and asks for it once. If it was declined, iOS will not ask again — turn it back on in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone › Ninu, or in Settings › Ninu. On the Watch it is a separate grant, in the Watch app under Privacy › Microphone.
Nothing else in Ninu is blocked by declining. Recording simply won’t start, and the app will say so rather than sitting there silently.
“No baby cry detected”
Before classifying, Ninu passes the clip through Apple’s own sound recognition to confirm it actually contains a baby crying, and stops if it doesn’t. That is deliberate — the alternative is confidently classifying a dishwasher.
Move to about arm’s length, pause a fan or white-noise machine if one is running, and record while your baby is actually crying rather than winding down.
The result came back uncertain
Low confidence means the three clips didn’t converge, or the top score landed under 60%. Usually it is the room: a TV, a sibling, an extractor fan. Re-record closer, in a quieter moment.
Logging the last feed, nap and change first also helps — those clocks re-weight the result, and with nothing logged Ninu is working from sound alone.
The answer doesn't match my baby
Tell it. Every result has Worked · Still crying · Tired underneath, and that feedback shapes what Insights tells you later. Ninu is a starting point, not a verdict — if your instinct disagrees with a Medium or Low result, your instinct is the better evidence.
My Apple Watch says “Subscribe on iPhone”
Purchases only happen on the phone, because subscription identities are per-install and a purchase made on the Watch could never be matched to the one on your iPhone.
Subscribe on the phone, then open Ninu on the phone with the Watch unlocked and nearby. The entitlement transfers directly between the two devices — it does not go through us, and it does not need a network.
Manage or cancel your subscription
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. Cancelling keeps your access to the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you have paid and Ninu doesn’t recognise it, use Restore Purchases on the paywall. There is no account, so restoring is how an entitlement finds its way back after a reinstall or a new phone.
Privacy and data requests
Everything Ninu stores is on your device, so deleting the app deletes all of it, and clearing history or the care log in Settings does the same selectively. Your baby’s audio is never stored at all.
For an access request, a deletion request covering purchase records, or a complaint, email support@apphive.tech. The detail is in our Privacy Policy. Apphive Technologies is based in Bengaluru, India.
When to call a doctor instead
Ninu is an assistive tool, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose anything. If your baby seems unwell, is crying inconsolably, has a fever, or has any trouble breathing, contact your pediatrician or your local emergency number. Don’t wait on an app, and don’t email us first.
